Istanbul Airport, one of the largest and most ambitious infrastructure projects in the world, was constructed to become a major global aviation hub. Located on the European side of Istanbul, the airport was built in phases, with the first phase completed and opened in October 2018. The project involved extensive planning and engineering, covering an area of 76.5 million square meters. It features a massive terminal, state-of-the-art facilities, and multiple runways designed to handle up to 200 million passengers annually at full capacity.
